Correspondence between Nazi leaders and German army commanders III
1 online resource (61 pages)
The file contains the third part of documents which show a correspondence between Nazi leaders and German army commanders. The documents vary in leaflets, orders, transcription and letters. A letter from 31 July 1944 deals with the illegal distribution of goods, wine, ham and iron, by the company Schweisswerk Kestenholz GmbH. Mr. Ohm was subsequently arrested and released by the Landkommissar in Schlettstadt. Furthermore, copies of the personnel, financial and economic office and records of the head of civil administration in Alsace were attached. An other Order A 9/44, recording all forces for total military service can be seen. It says that it has become necessary to demand the mobilization of all forces of the German people for the total war effort. There are still people everywhere who can carry out important work in the war or those who work and can be recruited in a war important job. Only the party could uncover these sources of error and bring the perfect use of all forces in order to ensure the Endsieg (ultimate victory). The document 'Besprechung des Führers mit General Reinicke' (Meeting of the Führer with general Reinicke) is a protocol regarding the appointment of Hermann Reineke as Chief of the Wehrmacht High Command (Oberkommando der Wehrmacht) and on the reorganization of the Wehrmacht under his direction. Reinicke makes it clear that the war will certainly be won by ideological nationalist orientation, which he will strengthen under all circumstances within the officers. Other participants of the meeting were Reichsleiter Bormann, Generalfeldmarschall Keitel, Generalleutnant Schmundt, Generalmajor Scherff und Obersleutnant Borgmann. Furthermore, a document is to be seen which deals with second law of protecting the unity of party and state (Zweite Gesetz zur Sicherung der Einheit von Partei und Staat). This law explains the precise tasks of the Reichs government, such as the preservation and strengthening of the nationalist ideology and the education of the German people.
