Christianity on the Nazi cross
1 electronic resource (24 pages)
The pamphlet discusses persecution of Christian churches in Nazi Germany, concentrating mainly on the Catholic church. It argues that Christian teachings are the opposites of Nazi ideology, and that they are not compatible with them. The pamphlet claims that an independent church cannot exist in a totalitarian state. The attempts by the Nazis to use “Weltanschauung” as a secular religion mixed with paganism are addressed. Instances of terror and intimidation in 1935, as well as a list of prosecuted and sentenced clerics are provided. The speech of Prince Hubertus Löwenstein given on March 5th, 1936 to the Central Trades and Labor Council of Greater New York and Vicinity is reprinted.
