[Report of the Connecticut Inter-Racial Commission]
1 electronic resource (34 pages)
The file contains the first report of the “Connecticut Inter-Racial Commission” published in 1944. The “Connecticut Inter-Racial Commission” had been established one year before when Governor Raymond E. Baldwin appointed ten members of the Commission, among them Rabbi Morris Silverman as Deputy-Chairman. One year later, its chairman, Walter H. Gray, the Suffragan Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut, presents the first results of its work to the Governor. The report is divided into five sections, dealing with the organization and the objectives of the Commission, the problems of racial inequality, its efforts to solve these problems, recommendations and supplemental statistics.
