[Carl Schmitt documents - Letter by Dr. Falk Ruttke]
1 electronic resource (3 pages)
File consists of several independent texts. First page is a letter from Dr. of Law Falk Ruttke,"geschäftsführender Direktor des Reichsausschusses für Volksgesundheitsdiens" (managing director of the Reich Committee for National Health Service, dealing with eugenics) to"comrad" Höhn informing him about the withdrawal of his thesis (and mentioning a copy of a letter sent to Höhn proofing that). Schmitt did not accept the withdrawal as the publication was already in print. Ruttke promises to do what he can to announce in public again and again that there is a wide general difference between Schmitt's opinion and his. He will soon give a detailed account of the whole matter to the Gruppenführer (SS lieutenant general). The second page is a note from 14.12.1936 of the SD Hauptamt, department II 222 to department I/3 saying that attached is a compilation of Schmitt's writings with a request for immediate acquisition of all of them. If there is more than one edition, then all editions are needed, to be able to exactly determine changes in Schmitt's thoughts. Furthermore, from the files present here the following writings could be compiled and should also be obtained (see attachments). They are referring to a phone talk between Untersturmführer Braune and Hauptsturmführer Ehrlinger on the same day. The third is a comment by department SD Hauptamt department II/2 from 08.12.1936. It says that on Saturday, 5th of December at 11 in the morning Oberstaatsanwalt (senior prosecutor) Bühler called the author of the comment by order of [Hans] Frank and told him that Schmitt will not get any official positions, neither in the"Rechtswahrerbun" (National Socialist Association of German Legal Professionals) nor in the Academy. The Minister asked him to notify the authorities in question about that.
