The file contains the fifth Bulletin from a series of Bulletins dealing with events in the Bern trial. It has been published by the Swiss Federation of Jewish Communities in Switzerland. This Bulletin is regarding the third day of trial on the 1st of Mai 1935. Since autumn 1934 the trial has been prepared in order to hear the case about the 'Protocols of the Wise man of Zion' and at this day at 2.30 pm the trial was opened by judge Walter Meyer. The Bulletin informs about the expertise presented by Ulrich Fleischhauer, who also published anti-Semitic propaganda through the"Welt-Diens". He started his expertise one day before in the morning session and he claimed that the 'Protocols' were genuine but of uncertain authorship, possibly composed by the Jewish author Ahad Haam and passed at a secret meeting of Bnai Brith which purportedly took place in 1897 during the first Zionist Congress at Basel, Switzerland. He continued to refer to the rumors that his statements about the Joly image were fake and made it clear that all his statements are true and his absolute conviction. Further he explained that his continuing presentation would take less time.
