A lecture by Schmitt about"the Jew Hugo Preuss, father of the Weimar constitutio" is mentioned, which was also published under the title"Hugo Preuss, his definition of state and his position within German political scienc". Schmitt praises Hugo Preuss' independent spirit and states that the destiny of the German intelligence and culture is inseparably linked with the destiny of the Weimar constitution.In the 2nd edition of his book"Political Theolog" Schmitt omitted some parts where he is affirmatively citing and praising Erich Kaufmann, who used to be a friend of his. He is well-known abroad as a major expert of National Socialist constitutional law, but so are his metamorphoses,which led to gloating jeer making him a shameful burden for the reputation National Socialist Jurisprudence abroad.A separation of the National Socialist Movement from Schmitt would mean removing a target of foreign attacks.
