Kurt von Schroeder who was born on November 24, 1889 in Hamburg, was a German nobleman, financier and SS-Brigadeführer. He is most famous for hosting the negotiations between members of Paul von Hindenburg's camarilla, Franz von Papen and Adolf Hitler in order to form a government after the controversial German federal election of November 1932. After the Second World War, Schroeder was arrested and was tried by a German court for crimes against humanity. He was found guilty and was sentenced to three months' imprisonment.
