The collection holds all the records of the 20 administrative districts (járás) that existed in Pest-Pilis-Solt-Kiskun County between 1886 and 1944. The majority of the records of the administrative districts were lost or destroyed. The material pertaining to the period of anti-Jewish laws and the Holocaust is particularly poor. Only the records of the chief constables of the Gödöllő, Szentendre, Vác, the Buda Region (1938-1944) and Pomáz Districts (1938-1940) contain files from this period. These segments of the collection contain citizenship, passport and naturalisation cases, cases of registers of births, marriages and deaths, administrative measures against non-resident aliens and foreigners, internment and custody, expulsion of Jews, anti-Jewish laws and bureaucratic antisemitic practices, magyarization of names, expropriation and distribution of Jewish real estate and movable property, requests for Jewish apartments and businesses, liquidation of Jewish organisations and institutions, investigations in matters of hiding Jewish assets, confiscation of radio receivers and other items, and ghettoization. Besides, the material also contains information on the supervision and activities of extreme right wing political parties and organisations.
The archival material of the districts was arranged into 20 record groups (fonds) according to the number of districts that existed over the time, including the districts of Abony (IV.421), Aszód (IV. 422), Bia (IV. 423), Buda Region District (Budakörnyék, IV. 424), Gödöllő (IV. 427), Gyömrő (IV. 429), Monor (IV. 435), Nagykáta (IV. 436), Pest Lower, Upper, and Middle District (Pesti alsó, felső és közép járás, IV. 437-439), Pilis Lower and Upper District (Pilisi alsó és felső járás, IV. 440-441), Pomáz (IV. 442), Ráckeve (IV. 445), Szentendre (IV. 446), Vác Lower and Upper District (Váci alsó és felső járás, IV. 447-448), Vác (IV. 449), and Szob (IV. 452).
