Nazi advocacy of barter

The files contain information and opinions on Germany's trade policy. The countries in East and South-East Europe receive German industrial products in exchange for their agricultural produce and natural commodities. Still, it is desirable that Germany produces everything it is able to produce itself. Restrictions on imports should be put in place if they lead to more work for German workers and farmers. Germany should avoid trade with distant regions as their connection can be cut off easily. The National Socialist trade policy is to rely mostly on domestic production. If needed, Germany can receive commodities by befriended European states under the condition that they purchase German products in return.
