The depositor, Dorrith Sim (née Oppenheim) apparently came to England on the Kindertransport- her travel documents are stamped 26 July 1939 (-/9). Her parents worked for the Reichsvereinigung der Juden in Deutschland, as evidenced by references from that organisation dated 8 June 1943(-/3-4). Whether they both ended work on or near that date is unknown. The date does coincide with the restructuring and scaling down of the Reichsvereinigung der Juden in Deutschland. According to Namen und Schicksale der Juden Kassels, 1933-1945, (a memorial book documenting the fate of the Jews from Kassel during the Nazi era), they moved into their last known address in Kassel on 30 January 1942 and were eventually pronounced verschollen in Auschwitz, date unknown.
