Schvimmer from New York to the New York Forverts editorial board regarding the experiences of the Holocaust survivor Solomon Wieder, from Detroit, in concentration camps, 21 September 1948 The activities of Wieder in concentration camps included entertaining his fellow inmates with song and dramatics; the paralysis of his left arm due to shooting by the Germans of Wieder's both arms on the day of the liberation of Bergen Belsen; includes two photographs of Wieder when he was a Jewish Theatre actor for youth in Poland before the war and one photograph of him in the United States after he had his arm amputated; the photographs can be found in the Yad Vashem Photo Archive.
