Memoirs of Moshe Hofman regarding his experiences in Vaihingen and Dachau camps and in Garmisch Partenkirchen Evacuation of Vaihingen camp and deportation on a death march, April 1945; transfer by train to Dachau; camp life; transfer of inmates from various camps to Dachau; separation between Jewish inmates and non-Jewish ones; receiving warm clothing and food and transfer by train, 27 April 1945; receiving a newspaper from a German soldier containing a news item regarding the attack on Berlin; transfer towards Innsbruck; transfer on a forced march uphill towards Garmisch Partenkirchen; indifference of the German guards in the absence of clear orders regarding the fate of the inmates; sleeping in an open area and watching the retreat of the German soldiers along the road; escape of the guards during the night; arrival of US Army tanks to Garmisch Partenkirchen; liberation, 01 May 1945.
