The fonds represents one of the basic resources for the history of the administrative district of Opava during the period of occupation. It is an important resource in the study of the political, administrative, national, economic, social, cultural and educational conditions in the district of Opava in the years of 1938–1945. The Jewish issues are explicitly related to by the following documents: the Aryanisation of Jewish businesses from the years of 1939–1941 (inventory no. 381), list of Jewish writers and authors-emigrants from Nazi Germany (inventory no. 404), instructions to arrest Jews, alphabetically arranged applications of evacuees from seized territory for the return of abandoned residential facilities and personal articles (inventory no. 509). It is possible that further information about the procedure of the Nazi authorities against the Jewish community may be found also in other parts of the fonds, for example in the section relating to population records, ethnicity and state citizenship. 

The fonds was arranged according to preserved file plans. The fonds comprises: I. Official books; II. Files; III. Accounting material; IV. Other material (seals). File material is divided into: A. Registry aids; B. Files; C. Card files; D. Official aids. The files are structured according to material perspectives.
