The fonds contains documents of the municipality of Jičín (books, files, and accounting material) and maps the history of the city since the 14th century, which had included the Jewish population since times immemorial. Before 1850, there are mentions of Jews from Jičín especially in municipal books, namely court books, market books, council minutes and protocols, and the registers of the population. From the 19th century, a number of Jewish land books have been preserved in the fonds such as a market book with a list of newly built Jewish houses 1773-1831, books of seats in the synagogue 1808-1877, a book of debts 1799-1859, a book of receipts 1802-1861, a book of wills 1809-1837, a book of the last inventories 1798-1799, a book of estates 1799-1847, and a book of inheritance applications 1803-1837. There are also files related to the Jewish fund, the Kantor Foundation, refugees from Halič 1918-1920 and lists of Jewish families 1851-1894. The Holocaust period is mainly mentioned in a component of the disorganized part of the fonds, which contains various regulations, ordinances, correspondence, inventories, and related matters concerning Jewish property after the end of World War II. One should also take into consideration commemorative books of the town (chronicles) and appendices, descriptive sheets of the inhabitants, conscription sheets, minutes of the town council meetings, documents concerning self-employed persons and a war file of the population register.
