Tiraspol Town Hall
During World War II, territories on the left bank of the Dniester river were incorporated into the governorship of Transnistria, established on August 19, 1941, by a decree of the High Command of the Romanian Forces. The Transnistrian governorate was divided into 13 counties and 464 districts. Left-bank Moldova became part of 3 counties: Rîbniţa, Dubăsari, and Tiraspol. Administrative units were counties, districts, and communes. The lowest administrative unit was the commune. Administrative management of the communes was carried out by the mayors. The mayor performed his duties with the help of the small apparatus. Tiraspol City Hall and its divisions were in charge of trade, industry, health, finance, economics, and transport in Tiraspol. The city halls were liquidated in 1944
