The Office of the State Secretary was a part of the Office of the Reichsprotector in Bohemia and Moravia. The State Secretary was till 1942 deputy of the Reichsprotector in the office and later in 1943 (after the reorganization of the Office of the Reichsprotector) it became the most powerful authority in the Protectorate Czech and Moravia, known as German State Minister.
The State Secretary - Karl Herman Frank - was also in the position of Senior commander of SS and police, so under his competences also fell offices of the commander of Ordnungspolizei (Riot police), commander of Sicherheitspolizei (Security police) and commander of Sicherheitsdienst (Security service).
