painted black with leather chin strap and two decals adhered to either side (left, German national insignia and right, Nazi emblem (black swastika over white circle on red background)), ink stamp inside helmet on leather padded lining"Michael Langenbrown / Schneider / Sulz...(partially illegible)" Germany; c.1939-1945. In German (?). Paint on object could be enamel.
