They married and had three children: Valerie (1904-2001), Max (1907-1997), and Karoline (1910-1984). Valerie and Max were born in in Přívoz (Oderfurt, now Czech Republic) before the family moved to Vienna, where Karoline was born. Valerie immigrated to the United States in 1923, Max in 1928, and Karoline and their mother Irma in 1938. The family changed their name to Wald after immigration."@en ;
