rico:history "United States Holocaust Memorial Museum"@en , "Yaffa Rosenthal was born of Jewish parents on Oct. 7, 1926, in Solotwina, Poland (Ukraine.) She and her family were deported to a massacre site at Kam'i︠a︡net︠s︡ʹ-Podilʹsʹkyĭ, Ukraine, but they hid from the guards and escaped. They walked to Stanislav, Ukraine, in 1941 and found a guide to take them to Hungary, but they could not stay there. Yaffa then went with her uncle to Transylvania but later choose to join her sister in Budapest, Hungary, in 1942. In 1944, Yaffa and her sister were forced into a ghetto and sent on a forced march to Germany, but Yaffa returned to Budapest and was later liberated by the Soviet Army. She emigrated to Palestine, lived there until 1959, and then emigrated to the United States."@en ;
