Research collection illustrating the experiences of the Blechner family who fled Munich, Germany. Research materials further enhance collection previously contributed documenting the experiences of the Mina and Markus Blechner; their sons Salo Blechner, who was deported to concentration camps in 1939 and survived and was liberated in 1945; Oskar, who was on the MS St. Louis and disembarked and went to the United Kingdom in 1939; Jakob, who fled to Switzerland; and Leo who immigrated to the United States before the second World War. Mina was deported from Munich and killed. Research was performed and compiled by Anthony Blechner, Oskar’s son, and used for publication and exhibition in Munich entitled"Ich lebe! Das ist ein Wunder G'tte", 2006.
