The papers consist of a diary, postcards, correspondence, poems, documents, permits, identification papers, receipts, photographs, and a book of printed drawings relating to the experiences of Shraga Weil and the extended Weil family. The diary, found by Shraga, is written in Hungarian and has an unknown author. The postcards, letters, and poetry were written by Shraga’s mother, Helena (Ilona) Tausig Weil, during the 1920s. The documents include a temporary pass for lodging, travel permits from Budapest, Hungary to Czechoslovakia issued in 1946 by Delegat Ceskoslovensk for Shraga Weil and his wife, Eva, work documents, envelopes, a list of Shraga and Eva’s used clothing, and a JDC receipt for an army coat. Original photos include a portrait of Shraga taken in 1943 or 1944, photos from Belgium, photos of Sara Weil with her parents in Bratislava before her aliya to Palestine, and a 1947 photo taken by Z. Kluger on the opening day of Kibbutz HaOgen. There is also a book of printed drawings owned by Engineer I. Weil (1889-1944) of Nitra, Bratislava (now Slovakia).
