ehri:biographicalHistory "Elias Sevillia (1905-1979) was born in 1905 to Leon Sevillia (1862-1924) and Eloisa Weinberg (1880-1929). He had nine siblings: Daniel (1897-1920), Pinhas (b. 1899), Errikos (b. 1901), Rosa (b. 1903), Moses (b. 1908), Victoria (b. 1910), Sara (b. 1914), Esther (b. 1918), and Leah (b. 1921). He married Martha Meyer (1910-2000) and they had three children: Leon, Daniel, and Aliza (Aliza Gerstein). His family survived the Italian and German occupations of Athens. His brother Errikos was deported from Athens to Haidari and then Auschwitz-Birkenau. He survived several subsequent camps and was liberated by the Soviet Red Army. Elias and his family immigrated to the United States after the war and settled in Minnesota, MN.\n\nMarkos Mevorah was born in 1917 in Alexandroupolis, Greece to Siniorou Mevorah (1877-1943) and Samuel Mevorah (1870-1943). He had one brother, Raphael Mevorah (1915-1943), and one sister, Virginia Mevorah (1910-1943). The family lived in Komotini, Greece. During the Greco-Italian War (1940-1941) Markos lost one of his legs to frostbite, and had a prosthetic. He survived the Holocaust living in Athens under the false-identity of Markos Papadimitrioy. Markos’ parents and siblings all perished at Treblinka. Markos met Eleonara Lea Sevilla (b. 1921) while he was recovering in the hospital and they married after the war. They had two children, Raphael (b. 1948) and Virginia (Virginia Behar, b. 1950)."@en ;
