Mrs. Gerald Holton (née Nina or Nisha Poliborska) was born in Radom, Poland, on May 25, 1924. Soon after her birth her family moved to Austria, where her father was employed in hotels as inspector who maintains kosher dietary laws (kashrut inspector, mashgiach). In 1939 the family immigrated in the United States. Mrs. Holton was educated the the Boston and the Harvard Universities, and became a sculptor. Her works were exhibited mostly in Massachusetts, but she also participated at exhibitions in San Francisco, CA, Washington, DC, and in Jerusalem, Israel. Her husband, Gerald Holton is professor of physics at the Harvard University 
Nisha Holton donated the map of Baden, Austria to the United States Holocaust Museum in 2004.

This map was hand painted by Mrs. Gerald (Nisha) Holton née Nisha Poliborsk and shows locations in the vicinity of her childhood home in Baden, Austria. She describes these location in memoirs she taped on 11 audio cassettes describing her experience prior to the Holocaust.
