Kenneth C. Myers photograph collection
folder
1
Consists of two original photographs and two enlarged copyprints of the same images, which were taken by Kenneth C. Myers, a mechanic with the 12th Armored Division, which participated in the liberation of Dachau. One photograph depicts the landscape of the camp and barbed wire, while the other depicts corpses on a cart.
Kenneth C. Myers was member of the United States Army, XIX Corps. After the D-Day invasion, he was reassigned to the 12th Armored Division and worked as a mechanic. His unit participated in the liberation of Dachau. Mr. Myers found a camera and taught himself to develop photographs in the back of his truck, which is how these photos were taken and developed. Mr. Myers passed away in 1988.
