The Bed family visits Capri and Rome, 1939
Meijer, Kaatje, Elly (Jetje) and John Bed on vacation. In color, flowers, a house, and the ocean, from high up in the hills of Capri. The terrain becomes more mountainous. 11:51 Kaatje and Jetje walk toward the camera in a town in either Switzerland or Austria (street and shop signs are in German). A man plays an Alpine horn next to a sign that says Edelweiss.
These films belong to Meijer Bed, a Dutch Jew. Meijer and Kaatje Bed (nee Vet) had two children Henriette Elly (Jetje) and John. According to IWM, the entire family was deported from Amsterdam to their deaths at Auschwitz.
