Aron Glass (1916-2006) was a native of Cologne, Germany, who after immigration to Palestine, served in the Palestine Police Force (1941-1943) and the Jewish Brigade of the British Army (1944-1946), serving in the Royal Engineers as a sapper. During this time, he saw action in Italy, and subsequently in Belgium, where he met and participated in the liberation of his future wife, Lilly Glass, who had been in hiding during the German occupation of that country.
