Forms part of the International Holocaust Documentation Archive at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. This archive consists of documentation whose reproduction and/or acquisition was made possible with funding from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation. Source of acquisition is the Genika Archeia tou Kratous, Greece (State Archives of Greece-Dodecanese Islands). The archive was unexpectedly discovered in 2011 and identified in 2013. The records, which were thought to be lost, had remained for 66 years in the room where the Carabinieri had left them in 1945. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives received the digitized collection via the United States Holocaust Museum International Archival Programs in August 2016, accretions in Feb. 2017, Aug. 2018, and Sep. 2023.
