rico:history "Tadeusz Januchta was born on 30 March 1913, in Kielce. Little is known about him, other than information recorded about him in the files of the International Tracing Service. He was a Roman Catholic Pole, who prior to the war, worked as a railway machinist, and was sent to Auschwitz on 22 August 1943, and assigned prisoner number 137541. Among other tasks as a forced laborer there, he worked as a sewer cleaner. Subsequent to this, he was a prisoner at Buchenwald and Mittelbau-Dora, including a sub-camp of of the latter, known as Dora-Sangerhausen, near Osterode (a letter from Januchta, dated 4 January 1945, and by him from this camp, is held in the archives of McMaster University in Hamilton, Ont., Canada).
