Nechama Ioanovna Vaisman (Anna Ivanovna Weisman, 1924-2009) was born on January 28, 1924 in Mogilev-Podolsky (Mohyliv-Podilskyi, Ukraine). She graduated from high school on the eve of the Romanian and German occupation of the city in July 1941. She and her parents tried to evacuated, but they were forced to return to live in the Jewish ghetto until liberation in March 1944. After the war she resumed her studies, married Zyunya Perelman, and had a son named Yuli Perelman.
