Kren (1928-2000) was born in Linz, Austria to Franz Kren (Frank, 1893-1976, born in Austria) and Gertrude Bloch (Trude,1903-1992, born in Austria) and had a sister, Joanne. His grandfather, Eduard Bloch (1872-1945), was the Hitler family doctor until 1907 and treated Hitler's mother when she developed breast cancer. In 1938, Gerturde and Franz sent George and his sister to England where they stayed until they could join their parents in the United States. In 1944 George was drafted into the United States Army and served in Europe. After his discharge in 1946, he attended Colby College before attending the University of Wisconsin where he earned his master’s and doctoral degrees. George was married to Margo Kren (1939-?, born in Houston, Texas)."@en ;
