The letter was written by Sack in Salzburg, Austria on May 26, 1945 and describes his wartime experiences in the spring of 1945. The letter describes battles in which his battalion participated and Sack’s experiences as a liberator of the Dachau concentration camp as part of the Seventh Army. The letter was written on the stationery of the regional leader of the Nazi Party of Salzburg (der Gauleiter und Reichsstatthalter in Salzburg), which features an embossed Nazi emblem."@en ;
