Mr. Kubáček, a Catholic married to a Jewish woman who had converted to Catholicism, was arrested in October 1944 for his participation in the resistance movement and was deported to Flossenbürg in January 1945. From Flossenbürg, he was sent to Plattling, and on April 24, 1945, was sent on a death march, and was liberated in Lohnstamf, Germany on May 4, 1945.
