The shield has dark red enamel paint on the top and white on the bottom corners. In the center is a pine tree outlined in silver, with a white enameled top and red bottom. Rosenberg, born in 1908 and from Brooklyn, New York, enlisted in the United States Army in November 1941. He served as a medic in the 46th Armored Medical Battalion, 4th Armored Division, during World War II. Rosenberg was deployed to France in 1944 and saw action in France and Germany. His battalion is known for its role in the Battle of the Bulge and for the liberation of Ohrdruf concentration camp, a subcamp of Buchenwald, in Germany. Rosenberg was wounded in the line of duty during the war and twice commended for his courage and devotion to duty during combat in France in September 1944. Rosenberg is believed to have died in Essex, New Jersey, in the 1980s."@en ;
