rico:history "David and Julia Liss lived in Poland with their two children, Niusienka and Henryk, before the German invasion. They were deported to Auschwitz concentration camp, and Julia, Niusienka, and Henryk were killed there on Aug. 31, 1944. David Liss survived and immigrated to the United States in 1948.
