In 1936, she married Marian Fruchtman and emigrated with him to the Soviet Union in 1941. After Fruchtman's death in 1942, she went to Tehran and married Edmond Herman; the marriage was annulled in 1946. She emigrated to Kenya and worked in a military hospital in Tanzania between 1945-1946 and then emigrated to the United States in 1948. Collection includes pre-war photographs of Helena and her immediate family and documents related to her marital status and wartime medical work."@en ;
