George, a member of the 13th Field Artillery Observation Battalion of the United States Army; includes photographs of the liberation of the Nordhausen concentration camp. Also includes photographs of military destruction as well as civilian and prisoner casualties encountered by the Army as they crossed Germany in the spring of 1945.
