The World Organization against Racial Hatred and Poverty was founded in October 1933 by Irene Harand an Austrian Catholic housewife. The organization provided aid to the Jewish population of Vienna, gathered 40,000 members, established many organization's branches in 27 countries, and published weekly newspaper"Gerechtigkeit" Irene Harand was honored by Yad Vashem in 1969 as the Righteous among the Nations.
