Stadtverwaltung Litzmanndstadt created the records during the operation of the ghetto in Łódź, Poland. The Polish State Archives filmed selected files at the request of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives in Feb. 1992. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives received the collection in June 1992.
