Renate Frydman conducted the interviews for"Faces of the Holocaus" in cooperation with the Wright State University Television Center in 1986 and 1987 with support from the Jewish Federation of Greater Dayton. As a part of the first project, edited version of the first nine interviews were created for educational use. A second project,"Faces of the Holocaust: The Liberators" focusing on concentration camp liberators was undertaken in 1994 and 1995. Although conducted in 1995, the interview with Sam Heider, a Holocaust survivor, is not part of the second project"Faces of the Holocaust: The Liberators" it forms part of the original project"Faces of the Holocaust" United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Oral History branch received the tapes of the first project in 1992, the Museum received the tapes of the second project in 1995.
