rico:generalDescription "Oscar Lichtenstern began writing in his journal sometime in 1944 after his arrival at Theresienstadt (Terezin). O n Dec. 24, 1944, he discovered that he had lost it. After a delay of unknown duration, Lichtenstern rewrote his journal and included some material about his liberation and his experiences immediately after. In Feb. 1992, his grandaughter, Ruth Lichtenstern Fishman, translated it from German to English; she donated a copy of his German manuscript and her translation to the USHRIA in Jun. 1994."@en ;
