While in the ghetto, Schlomkowitz joined the Zionist Party. He was transported to Auschwitz concentration camp in 1944 and was later moved to Dachau concentration camp where he was liberated in 1945. After liberation he was involved in an illegal emigration movement to Palestine. He immigrated to the United States in 1948."@en ;
