The letters were written by Zvi Klinger and other members of the Klinger family from 1938 to 1940. The letters stayed in the possession of Zvi Klinger until his death in Dec. 1986 at which time they became the property of his widow, Chaya Klinger. The letters were donated to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives by her on 17 Dec. 1991.
