The testimony was given to Elsie Thomas of the University of Nebraska at Lincoln by Caroline Ferriday. Ferriday received the testimony from a"French frien" who wished to remain anonymous. Because of the delicate condition of the original, Ms. Thomas had it photocopied and presented the copy to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives along with an English translation prepared by an unknown translator.
