Karoly Deme von Zadorgalva was born in Hungary in 1902 and served as a surgeon in the 20th Division of the Royal Hungarian Army during World War II. After the war, Karoly immigrated to the United States in 1950 aboard the SS General M. B. Stewart and settled in Ohio where he continued practicing medicine.
