Hoffman's parents, Ernst Bernhardt and Ella Moses Bernhardt, collected the correspondence, affidavits, and photographs from their children and other relatives during the years after the family's emigration to the United States (circa 1936-1940). Annelise B. Hoffman obtained the entire collection at the time of her mother's death in Jan. 1959. Hoffman donated the collection to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives in Dec. 1998."@en ;
