folder 1 15 photographic negatives,
The Charles Martin Roman collection consists of photographs, documents, and identity paperwork related to the Holocaust experiences of Carl (Carlo) Roman, now Charles Roman. The photographs depict his pre-war life in Vienna, images of Carl and his mother with a group of Jews on an escape over the Alps to Italy from the Italian-occupied zone of France in September 1943, family photographs, and photographs of the OSE-run Font-Romeu camp and Montintin children's home. Includes Carl's identity paperwork, a falsified document stating that Marianne Roman authorized Carl to leave the OSE children's home, and correspondence. Also includes photographic negatives of images of Jewish refugees in Italy in the fall of 1943.
The Charles Martin Roman collection is arranged in a single series.
