John Scott was born in East Cleveland, OH on June 23, 1917 to Leon and Hazel (Hull) Scott. He was an only child. He graduated from Youngstown College in 1939 and worked as a hospital orderly before joining the United States Army in 1942. He was stationed in the Panama Canal zone during the war. In the spring of 1946, he married Emily Salt Scott and went overseas to work for the Counter-Intelligence Corps in Germany. Emily later joined him; the couple remained in Germany until John was discharged in 1948. In 1949, John began a career in the intelligence services (CIA). Emily and John were stationed in Frankfurt between 1962-1964. John Scott died in the spring of 2007.

Includes correspondence, documents, and photographs related to his work with the Counter-Intelligence Corps (CIC) and his experiences stationed in Frankfurt, Germany in 1962-1963 as a member of the intelligence service.
