Jacob Herz immigrated to the United States from Poland in 1912. He had two daughters - Judith Hirsch (nee Herz) and Belle E. Moser (nee Herz, the donor). Jacob's father was a farmer in Wola, Poland. Later, he was shot in front of his home because he was unable to climb into the wagon used to deport the rest of the family.
