Fragmentary personal fonds of a prominent Jewish teacher Ľudovít Dojč whose career and personal life were significantly influenced by the political regime of the Slovak State (1939 – 1945). In this period, he was teaching in a separate Jewish school in Michalovce where he was affiliated until May 15, 1944. He survived the rest of persecution in hiding in the mountains. In 1970 Ľudovít Dojč started to deal with the history of Jews in Slovakia, he finalized the famous publication of Eugen Bárkány on the Jewish Religious Communities in Slovakia (Židovské náboženské obce na Slovensku). His further research was focused on the concentration camps, mainly in Bratislava – Petržalka. Ľudovít Dojč was the head of the Jewish community in Bratislava in the years 1984 – 1990.

Fragmentary fonds contains Ľudovít Dojč´s curriculum vitae, personal documents and various correspondence with foreign institutions. The most relevant material to the Jewish history in Slovakia, including persecution during the World War II, in this collection is dedicated to the research, documentation and drafts of the publication Jewish religious Communities in Slovakia (Židovské náboženské obce na Slovensku).
