rico:history "The Tradesmen Association of the Kráľovský Chlmec District was one of the most important institutions in which small industrialists and tradesmen were grouped from 44 localities that belonged to the historical Užhorod and Zemplín Counties. These localities were annexed to the Hungarian Kingdom according to the First Vienna Arbitration in November 1938. More that 2400 Jews lived in the settlements. The seat of the association was in Kráľovský Chlmec (in Hungarian Királyhelmec) with 886 Jewish inhabitants in 1941. Jews formed less than 10% of the membership of the Tradesmen Association, however they were represented also in its leadership. As a result of the anti-Jewish laws, after 1938 Jewish tradesmen gradually lost their rights and their association membership too, which is documented in this archival fonds too."@en ;

rico:scopeAndContent "The archival collection of the Tradesmen Association of the Krášovský Chlmec District contains materials related to Jewish industrialists and tradesmen who inhabited the localities of the district. 11 boxes of collection (boxes number 46-57) are related to the period between 1938 and 1945 including various archival files on anti-Jewish persecution, anti-Jewish regulations and the Aryanization of Jewish members of the association. The collection records preserve register books and several documents concerning the trade permits of Jewish members of the association. Furthermore, one might find here the files about the revocation of the business certificate of Jewish tradesmen in the 1940s, different statistics of Jewish industrialists and documents of non-Jewish managers who were appointed at the head of Jewish companies in 1944."@en ;
